Barn Cat Program

Hisses get kisses: Feral cats deserve love too!

Did you know that we have a long history of working with feral cats? We've taken in cats and kittens from a local feral colony as their caretaker traps them for roughly a decade to socialize and adopt them out or TNR (trap, neuter, return) them. Due to development in the area, the colony is now being displaced. We've been working to trap the rest of the colony, but what to do with them after that? We find them homes, of course!

The mission of our barn cat program is to find loving, accepting outdoor homes for these cats to live their best lives with as much human interaction as they choose to have.

All available cats in our barn cat program have been spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworms. We do require them to be adopted in pairs of two or more. Adoption fees are greatly reduced, or waived in some cases, for our barn cat adoptions.

Do you have a barn, farm, or large outdoor space that could be a safe haven for feral cats? If interested, please reach out to learn more about adopting feral cats!

Success Story - Gentle Acres Animal Haven

Aiding a Displaced Feral Colony

The lovely ladies of Gentle Acres Animal Haven recently adopted 4 of our feral barn cats to live at their sanctuary

Gentle Acres Animal Haven is a sanctuary for large animals located in Fairfield, VA, with the mission to provide a safe and loving home for animals that have been abused, abandoned, or discarded, with or without special needs. Just like us, they are a 501c3 non-profit and rely heavily on donations from their supporters. Please visit their website to learn more and give them a follow on IG & FB to see updates on how the cats adjust to their new life on the farm.  https://www.gentleacresanimalhaven.org/
