Foster

Opening your home to a fostering a cat or kitten saves lives plus it allows us to open space for another cat or kitten to be rescued.

Our Needs

We are always looking for both short-term and long-term fosters. More information on each can be found in the sections below.

No special skills are required --- just a warm safe environment away from other pets, food, water, a litter box and most importantly, lots of love.  The Cats at Longstreet provides all veterinary care through our partner veterinarian, Harmony Hill Animal Hospital.

Short Term Fostering

Short-term fosters are required when we first take a cat into the rescue.  Placing them in a foster home allows them to de-stress and have someone assess them for any health or behavioral issues.  After a few weeks, we will then move them to our partner, Patriot Pawsabilities, a cat lounge in Fairfax, for adoption.

Long Term Fostering

As we often take in many cats with medical issues, we are also looking for longer term fosters for those cats, as well as seniors who may need a little more time to find a home.

Interested in Fostering?

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please complete our foster application.  If you have any additional questions regarding fostering, please reach out to us at foster@thecatsatlongstreet.org.
